Return Policy

Thank you for shopping at Galedi Fabrics! We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases. Please read our return policy carefully before making a purchase.

1. Our Returns Guarantee

We are happy to accept returns or exchanges for most items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • In its original, unused condition.

  • With all original tags, labels, and packaging intact.

  • Free from any signs of wear, damage, or alteration.

Proof of purchase (original receipt or order confirmation) is required for all returns and exchanges.

Refunds: Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method. Please allow 3–5 business days for us to process your return once received, and then an additional 5–7 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.

2. EU Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers Only)

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 30 days of receiving the last item in your order, without giving any reason. This cooling-off period is provided under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and is extended to account for weekends and public holidays.

  • How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal: You can withdraw from your order by using the withdrawal function in your customer account, or by contacting us directly at:

    • You must notify us of your decision to withdraw before the 30-day period expires. We will send you a confirmation of your withdrawal request by email.

  • Effect of Withdrawal: Once you exercise your right of withdrawal, we will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs (excluding additional costs if you chose a delivery method other than our standard option), within 14 days of receiving your returned goods or proof of return, whichever is earlier. Refunds will be made using the same payment method as your original transaction.

  • Return Shipping: You are responsible for the direct cost of returning these goods. We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

  • Condition of Returned Goods: Returned items must be in their original, unused condition. We reserve the right to deduct an amount for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.

  • Exemptions — Items Not Covered by the Right of Withdrawal: In strict accordance with Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:

    • Goods Cut by the Metre: This includes fabrics, linings, ribbons, tapes, lace trims, cords, and elastics sold by the metre. These are considered goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (custom-cut to your order) and are entirely exempt under Article 16(c). This exemption is clearly disclosed before you place your order.

    • Sealed Haberdashery Items That Have Been Opened: Goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection, safety, or hygiene reasons once unsealed after delivery under Article 16(e).

    • Sewing Patterns: Digital content or goods with copyright restrictions where the protective seal or packaging has been breached.

3. Non-Returnable Items (Standard Policy)

For standard orders, and in alignment with our regulatory exemptions, the following items are strictly non-returnable:

  • Items Sold / Cut by the Metre: Any product measured and cut specifically to your individual length requirement is considered a custom order and cannot be returned or exchanged unless it is faulty. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Cut Fabrics, Linings & Interfacings

    • Ribbons (Velvet, Satin, Grossgrain, etc.)

    • Tapes & Trims (Lace Tapes, Bias Tapes, Piping, Trimmings)

    • Elastics (Elastic Ribbons, Cords, and Tapes)

    • We strongly recommend checking samples before ordering larger quantities.

  • Sewing Patterns: Due to copyright restrictions, sewing patterns are non-returnable.

  • Opened or Used Haberdashery Items: This includes items such as threads, zips, buttons, needles, fasteners, and similar items that have been opened or removed from their retail packaging.

  • Sale Items: Items marked as "sale," "clearance," or "discounted" are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, unless they are faulty.

4. Faulty or Damaged Items

If you receive a faulty or damaged item, please contact us immediately within 48 hours of receiving the item. Please provide:

  1. Your order number.

  2. A clear description of the fault or damage.

  3. Photos of the damage or fault.

We will assess the issue and, if confirmed faulty, will offer a replacement, repair, or full refund, including original shipping costs. Return shipping costs for faulty or damaged items will be covered entirely by Galedi Fabrics.

5. Exchanges

We are happy to offer exchanges for items of equal value, subject to availability. If the desired exchange item is not available, or if there is a price difference, we will issue a refund for the returned item and you can place a new order online for the desired item.

6. How to Return an Item

To initiate a return:

  1. Contact Us: Please email us at sales@galedifabrics.com or call us at 020 8259 6881 to inform us of your intention to return an item. Please provide your order number and the reason for the return.

  2. Return Address Confirmation: Once you contact us, we will confirm the correct return address for your specific item(s), as we operate from different locations for fabrics and haberdashery. Do not send items back before contacting us.

  3. Packaging: Securely package the item(s) in their original packaging, if possible, or in suitable packaging to prevent damage during transit. Include your proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt) inside the package.

  4. Shipping: You are responsible for the return shipping costs for unwanted items. We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service, as Galedi Fabrics cannot be held responsible for returns that are lost or damaged in transit.

7. In-Store Returns

Items purchased online can also be returned in our physical store, provided you have your order confirmation and the items meet the return criteria outlined above. Please check our opening hours before visiting.
